THE STORY:

Hiya!

This winter break, I am going on a 10-day medical mission trip to Nicaragua from December 20-30th. I am definitely excited for this trip as it will provide me invaluable experience in medical practice on a global scale.

Every day, I will be participating in a medical team of doctors, medical students, and other pre-med students. We will be start in Managua and travel to towns and villages throughout Nicaragua. The itinerary includes hands-on training, hospital and clinical practice, case discussions, community health, a Spanish class, and some time to explore the local culture.

As you may already know, this type of trip can be costly. I am paying for the fees and flight all on my own (without my parents). The program fees cover "two meals per day, all lodging, land and water transport, guides, tips, museum and event fees, field academic program costs, security costs, and project supplies". I am also to bring my own set of scrubs and medical equipment (i.e. stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, etc).

Just to clarify, I am in NO WAY expecting ANY person to help me pay for this program. So please do NOT feel obligated to make any donations. I only made this page because some have expressed interest in helping me fund for this trip. Also, I know some of you have trouble thinking of what to get me for Christmas.. (hint hint)

Thank you SO MUCH in advance to those who do choose to donate. And even for those who don't, prayers for my safety and a smooth trip will be GREATLY appreciated! Also, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me.

Have a happy and healthy holiday season, everyone!
Ashley
