Support Anna Bach's Trip to Copenhagen
Organized by: Anna Bach
EVENT DATE Aug 01, 2014
I have been accepted to study at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark this Fall from the months of August to December. Studying abroad has been a goal of mine since I started my undergraduate career and I’m glad to finally push forward with it. This decision was not an easy one considering that the region is new to me, the weather is extremely different than what I am comfortable with (25-51°F) and that the living standard is much higher there. Despite these reservations, I am happy to have friends and mentors encourage me and ease my worries.
At the university, I will be taking Sociology courses on the Danish government, their welfare model and the environment. Denmark is known as one of the happiest nations in the world. This is mainly because the government supports the people through universal healthcare and has liberal social welfare policies. I am curious to learn about their model to engage in meaningful work when I return.
Although my financial aid goes toward most of my tuition abroad, I need to fund my housing, airfare, residence permit, and other additional costs. I want to do my best to avoid taking out loans. I am mainly depending on my own income, savings and financial aid for this trip. I would very much love and appreciate any monetary contributions to support my time abroad! :)
Thank you in advance!
