Send Briena to Thailand
Organized by: Briena Henry
EVENT DATE Jul 06, 2015
This is so important to me because Elephants are such beautiful animals who are endangered, hunted and not always treated right. The Elephant camp in Chiang Mai has been running for over 20 years and their main goals are to help care for the Elephants they have rescued, keep them healthy, keep them busy with things to do and most importantly, keep them safe.
Elephants have been domesticated in Asia for thousands of years, but these days they are suffering from something of an unemployment problem thanks to the reform of the timber industry and the creation of vehicles, it's been harder finding jobs for them.
My duties when I am there are to help the mahouts with the daily care of the elephant; cutting grass for them to eat, cleaning up after them, helping with their daily routines, and help with medical procedures needed. I will also be helping out at the local village schools teaching English to the local children at their schools.

Thank you all & wish me luck!!
