Send CAPV to Movement for Black Lives Convening
Organized by: Coalition Against Police Violence
The Coalition Against Police Violence (CAPV) has been a tireless partner in the movement for Black liberation. We hope to continue our nationwide advocacy work and contribute to the planning of next steps by attending the inaugural Movement for Black Lives Convening in Cleveland, OH, from Friday, July 24 to Sunday, July 26th, 2015. Please help us get to Cleveland. About Us: CAPV is a grassroots collective of diverse individuals and organizations fighting to eradicate systemic injustice and state sanctioned violence. Led by two Black Women, we use relentless activism, economic sanctions, and pragmatic strategies of reform to confront the unjust abuse of citizens in law enforcement and criminal court systems based on class, race, and gender identity. Founded in November 2014, we believe that "the best in each of us protect all of us." Since our inception we've worked diligently on the following campaigns and direct actions: #ShedLight Vigils for Tamir Rice and the Stolen Children, Million Moms March in Washington DC, National Petition for Total Police Accountability and Reform, International 4 Mile March (Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance) and National Black Friday and Cyber Monday Boycott, #NoChangeNoProfits: Nationwide Boycott to End Prison Labor & State Sanctioned Violence, and the Nationwide Scars & Stripes 4 Mile March.
