Send Denver area students to visit Franciscan!
Organized by: Abriana Chilelli
Hello Denver-area Franciscan alumni!
I would confidently bet that your spiritual and educational formation at Franciscan University transformed your life-- just as it transformed mine.
The theology classes taught us the beauty of our faith, other courses challenged our minds, daily mass and adoration formed our hearts, and households supported us on our journey to faithful adulthood. The priests, friars, religious sisters, and professors gave us examples of people living with deep joy, in the freedom and love of Jesus Christ.
Franciscan is a unique and wonderful place, where students come not just to study, but to become missionary disciples of Jesus.
As you may know, I teach at an urban Denver public high school. More and more, kids' faith is being threatened in public schools. I see it concretely every day. And yet, through that, I have students who remain passionately Catholic. They are held to the faith through baptism, and formed through their families and parishes.
We all know that other colleges don't, or can't, offer the faith formation that Franciscan offers. I have 2 students who are interested in going to Franciscan to continue their faith formation and education. However, both students do not have the means to visit the campus. I assured each student that I would reach out to Denver's robust and beautiful community of alumni to see if it was possible to fundraise their campus visit.
We hope to raise enough money to send each student on a campus visit to Franciscan in April/May 2016. Your generous donation can help send a student from Denver to Franciscan to visit it, fall in love with it, and then hopefully choose to attend. Sending Denver-area students to Franciscan helps build the future of the Catholic community in Denver, since they will likely come back and form beautiful community for their generation of young Catholics.
I'm grateful for your support!
