Send Kel to Field School
Organized by: Kel Henkel
This summer I'll be spending a month studying the traditional cultural uses of local flora in a Yucatec Maya village in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. It is through a field school sponsored by the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, and aims to teach students methods for ethnography and botanical field research.
This is an amazing opportunity extremely relevant to what I would like to do after college and I'm so happy to have been selected- but the field school does have a price tag. I am only aiming to raise a third of the cost of the field school- $1000. The price of this adventure that I am unable to raise will come out of my college tuition fund, which is already on its last legs while I still have a year of school left, so any amount that I am able to offset will mean less loans that I have to take out to finish my undergraduate career.
I am eternally grateful to anyone who is able to donate even a small amount, and I am always able to talk more about this opportunity to anyone who is interested in knowing more (email: firstname.lastname@example.org, RE: Send Kel to Field School Crowdrise).
