Send Malik and Vanessa to Kansas to compete in Nationals!
Organized by: Gibran Graham
Malik Robinson, a senior at Bangor High School, has been a part of the Speech and Debate team since his freshman year. Malik has participated in numerous speech and debate categories, student Congress events, and has been selected to go to every single national tournament since his freshman year. This year he enlisted his good friend, Vanessa Graham, to compete with him in the Duo Interpretation speech event. This is Vanessa’s first year as a “Speechie” and Malik’s last. Their adaptation of the play “Hush, Little Celia, Don’t Say a Word” captivated the hearts and the minds of several Maine speech judges at the state level tournaments. Now they are one of only two Duo teams from Maine who qualified for the 2014 National Forensic League Tournament. They need your help to bring their amazing piece to the national judges in Kansas in two weeks! The weeklong trip is going to cost them a total of $2800. Help Malik’s last year as a BHS Speech and Debate member and Vanessa’s first go out with a bang. Malik and Vanessa can't wait to show the judges in Kansas the piece they've worked so hard on but they need your help to get there.
