EVENT DATE: Jul 02, 2011
July 2nd to 15th there is an International Conference on Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development being held in Cuba and I want to go! (http://www.globalexchange.org/tours/1142.html)
As a poor graduate student my funds are limited so I am taking to the interwebs, bake sales and good old fashioned groveling to try and raise enough dollars to make this once in a lifetime experience a reality.
The cost of plane tickets, hotels, conference fees and program fees adds up. I am hoping to get some scholarship money from Global Exchange, and I have a leadership scholarship from the Sierra Club to cash in but there is still a large gap so I'm asking people to give up eating out for lunch for one day and instead donating that $5 or $10 dollars to my trip instead. If I get 100 people to do that I will be half way to my fundraising goal!

Any donation helps and in return I will be forever grateful and find a creative way to show it. Also, I will try and document all my adventures so that I can share them with you all.
PS. If you are uncomfortable with donating online you can also do it the old fashioned way. Let me know and I can get you the donation form :)
