Send Me to Ghana!
Organized by: Bümi Lola
Child Family Health International is a fabulous Non-profit organization sponsoring Educational Global Health trips to countries all across this Big Blue Planet! This April I'm hoping to follow my roots to the Motherland to visit the beautiful country of Ghana, a sister to my family's native Nigeria. I'm planning to spend one month in Accra, Ghana's Capital City, focusing on the Child Health and Social Determinants of Health. By making this journey possible, I will be able to graduate medical school this coming May will a deeper understanding of the essential components of a successful health system. Help make this dream a reality! $2500 of the money I raise will go directly to the CFHI program $1200 will cover flight and travel expenses I would love to raise an additional $1000 for the program outside the scope of my $3700 goal! From the CFHI Website: "CFHI was established 1992 and is considered the gold standard in the field for their ethical approach, unique funding structure, and asset-based community development model. The majority of CFHI programs are offered year round, every month, and are run by local health professionals to provide authentic in-country experiences. CFHI is also an official partner of AMSA (American Medical Student Association), is recognized by the Better Business Bureau, and is proud to be part of a small number of nonprofits serving in Special Consultative Status with the ECOSOC of the United Nations. As a UN-recognized nonprofit, CFHI programs uphold the highest ethical standards with over 50% of student fees reinvested in underserved communities abroad.
