Send Mom to Tyler's Air Force graduation
Organized by: janine smith
Sometime in the past 4 years my son Tyler Quinn decided that the AIr Force might be a good idea for him. I learned about it in this past 4 months. Imagine how surprised I was as a mother. I rolled with the punches as one must do, and he got the call to go on the 11th of Jan. 2016. I have been crying this whole time. We had one week to prepare. I didn't know how I was going to get to the graduation on the 6th of March as I am on a fixed income. I still don't know how I am going to get there. I have wonderful friends, but they have things going on as well. So, I have a cousin that told me about this. I said that I didn't want to ask anyone else for money to do something that I could not do. Then I thought, I could never forgive myself if there were not a parent there in the audience to see him graduate. How he would feel if nobody were there for his big day. So here I am. Asking. My daughter and I are planning on getting a rental car and driving from upstate NY to NC to pick up his dad and then driving to TX to be there for him. I think he will be beaming to see his family in the audience. He will never expect it. He think none of us can afford it. So here I am with my hat in my hand. I hate asking anyone for anything. If you can't do it I understand, and love you all just the same. God bless...Janine.
