Being Elderly does not mean you can't have fun too. For elders, aging often means becoming disconnected from daily social networks with growing social isolation. Seniors Night Out offers an opportunity for many elderly to re-engage with others for a night of music and entertainment. The evening presents an opportunity for younger members of our community to meet and escort an older adult to dinner, and to share in lively conversation and dancing. Many of our elders have interesting stories to share and music brings out dance moves you won't soon forget. Sometimes it just tapping your cane to the beat of the music, or walking around the dance floor with your walker or being twirled around in a wheel chair by your escort! Often, the only time these folks leave their homes is for doctor visits or needed errands. Many are homebound and no longer drive. This event (our 24th year) affords an opportunity to socialize and have fun. Many contribute to worthy causes for children, chronic diseases verterans and the arts. Please, don't forget our elderly - someday you will be among us!
