Community Caring Center of Greater Boynton Beach, Inc. provides senior services to frail and elderly shut-ins in the "Heart of Boynton" neighborhood.
Each week friendly calls are made to assess their weekly needs including food, financial aid, and transportation.
Case managers make weekly deliveries of FREE fruits and vegetables and fresh-made soups, adding any special requests from the pantry.
Signs of dementia, dehydration, and malnutrition are looked for with each visit. A local doctor with a master’s degree in nutrition often accompanies the veggie mobile to answer questions concerning diet. Other programs include classes in chronic disease wellness, nutrition cooking, affordable food packages (meat box $30, Veggie Box $6, and Dairy Box $10) and prepared hot delivered weekly meals for $3.50.
Goals include: Purchase of a second vehicle, a van w/sliding side door for the transporting of veggies and food, Develop our senior delivered hot meals to local shut-ins, Urban Farming Project, organic gardening.
$30 provides a senior with a hot meal once a week for eight (8) weeks.
Social activities are also provided several times a year: Breakfast in the Pumpkin Patch, Mother's Day social, Bedner's Tractor pull, Valentine's Sweetheart Luncheon, Angel Tree Trimming Party.
Donations are tax exempt. We are listed with the Department of Agriculture Solicitations for Charitable Contributions.
