On March 20, 2016, I will be running the Seoul International Marathon for the organization Pajama Program. Initially, I wanted to support an organization related to adoption but not a specific agency or family. In my search for an organization to support, I came across Pajama Program when someone posted about them on Facebook. Once I found out that they had a program where you could support them by participating in an event, I knew that this was the organization I wanted to support. Many of the children aided by Pajama Program have never had a pair of pajamas or a book to call their own. I cannot imagine not having these items when I was a child and now, as a father, I could not imagine my son not having his favorite book "Discovering Dinosaurs" or his Minion pjs. Please help me in supporting Pajama Program by donating to my fundraiser.
Pajama Program's Mission: Pajama Program provides new pajamas and new books to children in need nationwide, many of whom are waiting to be adopted. These children live in group homes, shelters and temporary housing facilities and are shuffled often from one place to another. Many of them have been abandoned, abused or neglected. Most of these children have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a parent tuck them in at bedtime with warm, clean pajamas and a bedtime story. Some of the children are living with their families below the poverty level, in desperate need of food, clothing and shelter. These two simple gifts of pajamas and books let the children know that someone cares - sometimes these are the only new things they have ever received.
