Hey everyone! My name is Sereen Askari, I am 21 years old, and I attend Robert Morris University. I have been training and competing in karate since I was 7. Ever since I was that little girl and experienced my first taste of competition and success, I hunger for the satisfaction of wearing that gold medal around my neck. With all of the countless hours of vigorous training and preparation that I put in behind me, there is not a superior feeling in the world than reaping the rewards of my hard work. I have always been a person that believes in the power of dreams and that if you never give in, you will indeed conquer whatever your heart desires.
I have aspirations of becoming a world champion and winning an Olympic medal (if karate wins a spot in the 2020 Olympics that is). I have been striving to achieve these dreams and fighting with all of my might for each rising step on the staircase to my victory that awaits me. The University World Championships is going to be an extremely vital stride on this journey. This world event is going to take place in Bratislava, Slovakia on July 15, 2012. I will represent our great country the USA, my university RMU, my karate school, my coach, and my aspirations to achieve what I have always believed possible for myself! Any contribution will assist me in leaping over this step and bringing home that GOLD medal! If you could find it in your heart to help me conquer my dreams, I will forever give you my greatest gratitude.
I cannot thank you enough for learning about me and my dreams! Let’s take this home!
