Our Serenity Garden will be a unique public place that honors those who have been exposed to child abuse, sexual assault and/or domestic violence and offers an acknowledgement of the suffering they have endured and the work of healing they have undertaken. It has been said that we cannot end the suffering we see in the world, but we can at least try to reduce the amount and depth of suffering. The Garden will be a tangible expression of this community's recognition of their pain and courage in refusing to allow their victimization to become their identity. The Garden will be located in a public park in the center of our community. Funds received in excess of the cost to create the Garden will be used to continue the direct services our Domestic Violence Survivor Center and Sexual Assault Recovery Program provide to victims.
