BENEFITING: THE SERGEANT THOMAS JOSEPH SULLIVAN CENTER
ORGANIZER: THE SERGEANT THOMAS JOSEPH SULLIVAN CENTER
This October, I will be running the Chicago Marathon as part of The Sergeant Sullivan Center team. The Sergeant Sullivan Center benefits those veterans who suffer from unexplained post deployment health concerns, which are sometimes referred to as exposure injuries. These veterans may have been exposed to toxic fumes, dust, or other toxins and chemicals that impact the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, and other major bodily systems. Currently, over 500,000 veterans are known to be suffering from an undiagnosed post-deployment illness. The causes of the post-deployment illnesses are unknown; therefore, diagnosis and treatment are difficult. This is a cause especially close to me as my dad is a disabled American veteran.
I thank you for your consideration in supporting The Sergeant Sullivan Center and my journey to finishing my first marathon.
