I’m passionate and interested in a wide variety of knowledge areas. While my hobbies, passions, and initiatives tend to be widespread, you can uncover some common themes when you look at them from a high level.
The Food Dude
Like many people today, Michael likes to know where his food comes from. He cares deeply about the quality of our food and environment, and envisions a society where locally and sustainably grown food is an expectation and right. While Michael is adamant about increasing wellness and food literacy in local communities, he’s also inspired right in his own home. As the house chef, Michael employs his passion for food in the kitchen, concocting healthified meals with delicious local ingredients. Michael proves this passion outside of his own kitchen through his founding and leadership of Farmished and as one of the founding partners of Ancestral Meats.
The Business Man
Michael is a strong developer of people as well as a collaborative thought leader for business. He has spent more than 14 of his 20+ years in technology leadership with Ontario Systems, lending expertise to dozens of initiatives and assisting professionals stuck in a technological jam. He currently serves as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Ontario Systems. In addition to his professional experience in technology, Michael is an entrepreneur. Outside of the office, he uses his business prowess to operate organizations that promote jobs and growth for various community members. From revitalized housing projects to nonprofit start-ups to commercial development, Michael is committed to investing in his community. He is a founding member and President of Sustainable Muncie Corp which is a nonprofit focused on economic development of downtown Muncie. Michael is also the founder of Servesting and one of the founding partners of Urban Muncie which are focused on the commercial and residential restoration of dignity and pride in Muncie.
The Tech Guy
Michael is a technophile at heart, programming fluently in many different architectures, easily building complex systems and comfortably managing the complexities of cloud solutions. As a talented Chief Technology Officer, he most enjoys engaging his techie side to help professionals identify and solve problems whether they be in product development, innovation management, or IT. Michael is dedicated to remaining at the forefront of current events and advances, enabling him to provide insight on a vast variety of topics. He is currently the Chair of the Industrial Advisory Board for the Security and Software Engineering Research Center which is an industry meets academia program funded by the National Science Foundation. He also serves on the board of advisors of other private software and technology companies.
The Innovative Individual
Michael spends his free time (if you can call it that) dabbling in photography and officiating USA Swimming events. He’s constantly cooking up fresh ideas‒ both in the kitchen and in the community‒ and is eager to tackle new adventures as they arise. Whether it involves travel, reading, writing, coding, or even renovating buildings, you better believe Michael Wolfe is all over it. If there is a challenge, Michael can develop or facilitate a solution.
