BENEFITING: Hope For Tomorrow
Like many people, I am a young adult who had almost no idea what I want to do with my life. I came out of college knowing that two things were important to me, as far as careers go: service and traveling. So, I've decided to spend the next several years of my life traveling and doing service.
I started by moving from Chicago to Los Angeles, where I served as a tutor and mentor for inner-city youth. www.cityyear.org for more information
My next stop is Copan Ruinas, Honduras, where I will be teaching 6th grade at Mayatan Bilingual School. I'll be staying there for 1-2 years. www.mayatanfoundation.org/school/ for more information
Other volunteer projects I'd like to be involved in over the next few years are:
Farm of the Child, a 2.5 year program serving at an orphanage in Trujillo, Honduras. www.farmofthechild.org for more information
International Volunteer HQ, an organization that has projects in several sites around the world. Volunteers stay for 1 week to 6 months and can work on anything from construction to teaching to HIV/AIDS awareness. I would like to spend about a year traveling the world with this organization, spending a month or so in 9 different countries.

How can you help? There are many ways!
1. Volunteer with one of these organizations yourself
2. Donate to the organization directly or sponsor a child
3. Vote for me
4. Donate money to help cover my costs in volunteering for these organizations (Farm of the Child asks that volunteers fundraise before coming and International Volunteer HQ has program fees. Also, airfare is expensive!)
