Welcome to Service Dogs for Our Community
Let me first introduce myself. My name is Kelsey Brown. I am a Lupus Survivor which is an Auto-Immune disease that shuts my internal organs down. I vowed that if I survived I would do my best to help others. I have been able to return to normal life for after my hospitalization four years ago. I want to give back to my community and others who may need more help that humans cannot provide.
I have started a foundation recently called Service Dogs for Our Community, which is to help families that cannot afford service dogs for their members to be able to fund them through us. I strongly believe that being able to give a person their independence is important because of the freedoms they will have. The program is specifically designed for autistic children right now, but I am hoping to expand the organization to cover all variety of needs from a service dog.
At this very moment, the organization would like to focus primarily on autistic children. In the future, I would like to expand it to anyone who needs help from service animals. I am working with autistic children to find them compatible dogs to train as their service dogs. We need funds to help with supplying them with training. I have contacted a few different training facilities that can train the canines for us, but raising funds has been an issue. There are so many kids and adults that could benefit from a service companion because it allows them to gain and keep their independence. The research I have done for the programs range between $3,000 and $50,000 depending on the type of training received and the length needed to train the canine.
Any Help is welcome from volunteering to donations. Donations will be made to an account specifically designed to the organization and then dispersed as needed to help fund children’s independence.
see if they have a fundraiser going so you can support 'em.
