BENEFITING: Charlotte Bridge Home Inc
Veterans that come to Charlotte Bridge Home are as unique as any other person or family that moves to a new city. Some want to make friends, some need a job, some want to start or complete their education. CBH helps them with all of these.
Some veterans return with Post Traumatic Stress. This condition is treatable. Studies show that having a hyper-vigilant service dog improves the lives of many service men and women and their families. We have seen this to be true. A fully trained service dog, significantly discounted for CBH, costs $10,000 and takes 6-12 months to train for each veteran's special circumstances. Please consider making a meaningful donation today.
100% of proceeds raised through this site will be used towards purchasing and awarding a service dog to one of our veteran clients.
Current Veteran Clients awaiting a service dog:
Veteran #1 (immediate need): "SG" served as an Army Ranger for 5 years from 2001-2006. He completed two deployments to Afghanistan and since his transition has faced many challenges while reintegrating to Charlotte. Having a service dog will alleviate some of his symptoms of trauma that he deals with daily, enabling SG to enjoy daily activities again. SG has a 5 year old son.
Veteran # 2 (immediate need): "CS" served in the United States Army for 18 years. He worked in Special Forces and completed two combat deployments. From these deployments, CS attained severe physical and psychological injuries. Having a service dog will relieve CS of some his psychological symptoms and relief for some of his physical injuries. Family care-takers will also feel relief as CS is able to regain his independence - over time. CS is married and has two sons, ages 14 and 9.
