Goldie is a 10 year old Carolina Dog who has been loyally caring for Denise Smith, a disabled USAF veteran, for the last nine years. Two days ago she was running through her yard, playing, when she suddenly yelped and came hopping back, her right rear leg tucked up close to her body. Evaluation by the emergency veterinarian diagnosed her with a torn cranial cruciate ligament (the doggy equivalent of an ACL tear). Prognosis for full return of function is good if she gets surgery soon, but the estimate is $3,000. We can come up with $500 of it, but Goldie needs your help to raise the rest and get her surgery before arthritis starts setting in.
Calling around, I found a veterenarian who will do the surgery for only $1500! That cuts the total cost in half and means I only need to raise $1000!
For everyone who has already donated, Thank You so much. You've gotten me more than 10% of the way there already!
Goldie's knee joint was starting to show signs of arthritis setting in so I've had to schedule Goldie's surgery. She will be operated on come the 19th of Aug to keep her leg from getting worse. We're almost 2/3 of the way to the total but I still really need to collect the last $600 to be able to pay for everything. Please, please help!
