I'm an accidental caregiver caring for a best friend going into its 9th year. In April 2008 my brother passed away from a life of disability. Due to corporate downsizing, In June I was laid off from a very good job in New Jersey which I had held for 10 years. I secured a new job in Maryland and moved in with my best friend. In September of 2008 I began my new job and the same day my other dearest friend was diagonosed with esophagus cancer. I took some personal time off to comfort him before he died just three weeks later. This all happened while my new roommate was having problems fainting when she stood up. Then, in late September, she collapsed and I took her to the emergency room. I have spent the last 9 years caring for her and helping her have some quality of life since her diagnosis of Dysautonomia, chronic venious insufficiency, POTS, extremely narrow pulse pressure, CFS, and more. She was bedridden for years. My new job never really happened as I asked for leave but could never go back. With insurmountable expenses, medical bills and paying for a recently discovered mold problem, we need any financial help you are able to give. Thank you for reading our story.
