Gracie's Gowns started as a community service project with a deep desire to help children battling cancer and other life-threatening conditions, have something to smile about, something to help their stay be a little more comfortable...something that might give them hope to get through another day of treatments and the unknown. Or as simply put, to bring a little sunshine to their cloudy days. Gracie's Gowns makes these hospital gowns primarily for individual children. They are made for preemies through teens, each gown has the first name of the child that it is for embroidered on it as well. Gowns are made and delivered to children all over the United States and across the globe. According to their website at the beginning of June 2015, Gracie's Gowns has completed and mailed 1,536 requested gowns and we have donated an additional 384 gowns 8 different hospitals and one nonprofit organization bringing our grand total of donated gowns to 1,920. Gowns have been sent across the United States reaching all of the 50 states and have also been sent to 10 countries! Currently, Gracie's Gowns operates out of the bedroom of Jessica, the founder of Gracie's Gowns. This fundraiser is being created to help find Gracie's Gowns it's own home which will allow for more volunteers to assist in sewing gowns, more direct services to the families in the Fredericksburg, VA area and surrounding regions, as well as community outreach programs to raise awareness for each of these chronic and life-threatening illnesses the families Gracie's Gowns serves are battling against.
