THE STORY:

The recent multiple earthquakes that devastated the already impoverished country of Nepal have not only caused much suffering in the more populated areas as in the larger cities such as Katmandu, but also in the many small mountainous villages scattered throughout the countryside. Understandably, the distribution of humanitarian aid is focused on the more populous areas of Nepal; however, the people in those outlying villages must not be forgotten. That is why the goal of Seam Siren℠ Frequency Clothing is to raise $10,000 for the specific purpose of rebuilding the school in the village of Bala that was destroyed by these earthquakes. This village is located in the Sankhusaua district of northeastern Nepal where the nettle plant is harvested, processed, woven and is used exclusively as the signature cloth for the Seam Siren℠ product line. The school is responsible for educating the children of its village and also those of more than nine other nearby villages. Seam Siren℠ has chosen the funding platform ‘crowdrise’ to ensure that ninety-nine cents of every dollar raised will make its way into the hands of the villagers of Bala to rebuild their school. These funds will be transmitted directly by Seam Siren℠ to our supply chain representative in Katmandu who is the intermediary with the Nepalese villages who produce our nettle cloth. He has volunteered to deliver the funds directly to the village elders and has agreed to provide an oversight function and assist in obtaining building materials to make certain the funds are used for their intended purpose. Seam Siren℠ is kick-starting our fund-raising campaign with a donation of $1,000. We are hopeful that those of you who believe in our mission and vision to support the global community will join us in a worthy cause close to our hearts and to show the victims of this latest natural disaster that they have not been forgotten
