AND FOR DAD,......I GET ON THAT PLANE TOMORROW AND CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU AND GIVE YOU A HUGE HUG X
This is not really my story; it's really about my loving, caring and very special Dad.
Chris (my husband) and I moved to California just over two years ago and about a month after we arrived I received a phone call from my parents to inform me that my father had been diagnosed with Leukemia. He hadn’t been very well and so I knew he was going to see the doctor, but I hadn’t expected the news to be so serious.
There are many people who have been touched in one way or another by all types of cancer; or who have lost their loved ones to the disease. This is why in some small way I want to make a contribution by running the Half Marathon in San Francisco. I am not a runner and I have never run a race in my life, in fact when I was at school I absolutely hated running; but when heart and mind come together it is amazing what can be achieved!... and of course I have had a great deal of support from Chris; he has been truly amazing.
I want to help and try to make a difference, so please, PLEASE support me in helping those special people out there, on the 6th February I will be running for my special person: MY DAD.
All your donations will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma society and WE will make a difference to the fight against this devastating disease.
Photos opposite are of me, my dad, and my friend Andie (my running buddy). Like me Andie has never run a half marathon before and without her I would never had entered into this, so thank you Andie. We can do it :-)
