In 2007, the Recreation and Parks Commission established a scholarship program in an effort to ensure that San Francisco residents are not denied the benefits of public recreation due to an inability to pay.
Every year RPD’s Summer Camps and After-school Programs provide thousands of children with safe, stimulating places to try new things and interact with caring adults. And for the families that cannot afford these programs, RPD offers scholarships that allow all San Franciscans to participate, regardless of their ability to pay.
