Our first and foremost capital-improvement goal is to build additional run-in shelters for the horses in our care. This provides a safe space in the pasture where they can seek refuge from such weather as snow, rain, wind, cold, and heat. While we currently provide shelter from the elements by stalling horses, this creates a significant drain on resources. And as any horse person knows, they are happiest and healthiest outside being horses.
We aim to build eight additional run-in shelters, each measuring 12 feet by 15 feet. This creates an environment where every horse in the herd, regardless of pecking order, can have a roof over its head.
Creating safe, sturdy structures to withstand the elements can be an expensive undertaking. The materials for each shelter total $1,400. We are grateful for our talented volunteers who are willing to donate their time to construct these shelters, saving us costly labor expenses.
All donations are tax-deductible, and donors will receive recognition for their contribution. We will be hosting a special event to celebrate the success of this campaign, and you will have the opportunity to see your direct contribution to the horses' quality of life! Those who help fundraise through crowdfunding are eligible for naming rights, recognition at the farm, and more. Learn more on our website.
