EVENT: Veterans Charity Challenge
The SF Veterans Mural project allows US military Veterans to utilize over 30,000 square feet ofpublic space to paint their own individual murals upon the walls of what is now know as “VetsAlley”. Vets Alley consists of 8 large public building in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco. The project was created in October 2011 and since its inception over 300 veterans, their families, supporters and the community-at-large have painted murals depicting the veteran artists and theirown personal stories. Presently, over 40 murals have have been painted by veterans from most US Military periods. The alley has welcomed Native American, Latino, African American, LGBT, andand their families to paint upon its walls.
We now have Veterans Mural Projects in San Francisco, Puerto Rico and Mexico. Funds from this fundraiser will be used to support hundreds of veterans in these three locations as they paint their stories upon the walls of these communities.
