BENEFITING: Saha Global
EVENT DATE: Dec 08, 2014
Everyone, everywhere, has the right to have access to basic life essentials.
In Northern Ghana, HALF of the population lacks access to clean drinking water. That's 2.5 MILLION people who lack access to improved sources of water.
I have been given an amazing opportunity to work with Saha Global with communities in rural Ghana to train community-appointed women entrepreneurs to launch profitable water businesses!
I’ll be raising funds this month to pay for the cost of water treatment equipment, including flocculants and chlorine (a biocide) to clarify and sterilize the existing contaminated water sources, like local rivers and ponds, to create a sustainable source of water that is created from existing natural resources. The funds also provide large drums for water treatment and safe storage containers for each household, allowing all local families to have access to water that is safe to drink.
38,108 people served... and counting!
100% of the 71 clean water businesses that Saha Global has enacted are still in operation today, owned and operated by the women business owners, improving the economic and health outcomes of the community.
Help me make a real difference in rural Ghana's health and well-being!
