There are 9 men on the staff of Shaker Road Elementary School, all of whom understand how important it is for men to look after their good health. Brovember at Shaker Road involves these 9 men using their facial hair to do some good and raise awareness about men's health issues, particularly prostate cancer. Needless to say, the wives and/or significant others of these good sports share in the misery. All proceeds benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
Bob Lachut, Mike McCulloch, Kurt Pfaffenbach, Sean Merchant, Bill Dollard, Steve Doran, Tony Jesmain, Greg Sherwin and John Moak are willing to endure the scratchy feel and sketchy look that attends non-shaving or beard and mustache growing. Ultimately, the group hopes that the men in our school community will be proactive about taking care of their health.
