There are 9 men on the staff of the Shaker Road Elementary School, all of whom understand how important it is for men to look after their good health. Brovember at Shaker Road involves these 9 men breaking their razors and allowing their whiskers to raise awareness about men's health issues, particularly prostate cancer. All proceeds benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
Bob Lachut, Mike McCulloch, Kurt Pfaffenbach, Sean Merchant, Bill Dollard, Steve Doran, Tony Jesmain, Greg Sherwin and John Moak are willing to endure the scratchy feel and sketchy look that attends beard-growing in hopes that the men of our community will be proactive in taking care of their health.
If it is true that the screening for prostate cancer can make a fella feel self-conscious, a real man knows that taking care of his health so that he is around to take care of those people counting on him is far more important. Don't fear the finger, fellas! Real men get screened...
