Shakir contributed much of his success to the education he received at Saint Mary’s, where great emphasis was placed on building character in young men, highlighting the elements of compassion, brotherhood, and altruism. His leadership skills surfaced at Saint Mary’s where he actively participated in student government.
Shakir has been described as a born negotiator with an ear for the right sound and the vision for the right deal. As a student at Morehouse College, Shakir became well known in the local entertainment industry.

During his impressive career, Shakir discovered, signed and developed many well-known artists such as Beyonce, Rick Ross, Ciara, and Young Jeezy, just to name a few.
Shakir died in 2008 at the age of 34 saddening relatives, friends, and the music industry.
