December 12, 2012
September 11, 2001 was my very first day of high school. Since then there have been over 2,000,000 troops deployed Iraq or Afghanistan. The Iraq war began on March 20, 2003 and officially ended on December 18, 2011. I still remember where I was the night I watched that first invasion. In 2012 we reached our 12th year of involvement in the war in Afghanistan. This makes it the longest involvement of any war that the United States has been apart of.
I am proud to say that I have had many friends and family who have fought and are still fighting for our freedom. They have been braver and more courageous than I could ever be. To those I know and those I do not, THANK YOU for your service and fighting for our freedom. You have given so much to me that now is my time to give back to you.
My run on Monday, April 15, 2013 will be in honor of all of our members of the armed forces. I ask you that you help me reach and hopefully surpass my goal of $5,000 for Wounded Warrior Project. No donation is to small and every little bit helps.
Thank you to everyone for their support and donations! I will be running with each and everyone of you on that Monday!
