EVENT DATE: Oct 24, 2015
After watching a documentary called @Home about homelessness in America, we decided that we wanted the celebration of our marriage to benefit our communities as well. Therefore, we've chosen organizations that are part of our lives, work to create stable, healthy communities, and attempt to address homelessness and health in DC. Sean works for Community of Hope, which actively combats homelessness and provides health care. Shannon volunteers with Common Good City Farm, an urban farm teaching sustainable farming and care for the earth as well as working to feed the surrounding community. Finally, the Father McKenna Center is a day shelter for homeless men in Washington, DC and is on the campus of Gonzaga High School, where Shannon works as a teacher. If you'd like to see the trailer for the film that inspired us (and we hope you do) click the right arrow under our picture. And thanks!
