This is a medical mission trip to Nicaragua, which is the 2nd poorest country in the entire western hemisphere. In Northern Nicaragua the people reside in small rural villages and live on less that $1 per day. There is no access to healthcare or clean drinking water. Corner of Love has a long-term commitment to fix this in the region of San Ramon, Nicaragua
We will be using our nursing and medical skills to treat patients, where without this team, an infection that we would easily solve with antibiotics from our local pharmacy, can be deadly for the people there. Katie and Jackie will be part of just one mother-daughter team, joined by Katie's co-workers. We will treat families for parasites, and address individual health concerns. We will be distributing medications and vitamins, as well as clothing and shoes. t is a Nicaraguan law that children have a certain type of shoes in order to go to school. Many families in the rural villages, can not afford shoes for all of their children. Parents are then faced with selecting only one child from their family that can attend school. Children that can not go to school, have no chance of breaking the cycle of poverty. We are going in hopes of providing new school shoes to hundreds of children that otherwise would not be able to attend school. We need your help! Any donation will help. Twenty dollars sends two children to school or buys 26 doses of anti-parasite medication that will keep 26 people parasite free for 6 months. If you can help with a donation, our team would really appreciate it and the people we are serving will too!
Thank you so much for making this trip possible. Check out more about Corner of Love at www.corneroflove.org
