Missionaries Among the Buddhists and Hindus in Thailand
Mahmood Shah Qureshi (1923-1999) was saved from a religion of works to eternal life in Jesus Christ. He experienced many hardships along the bumpy road that followed, but with each bump, he found the words of Jesus Christ to be true: "My grace is sufficient for you”.
He was a strict follower of a religion (Islam) and had every intention of staying with that religion all the days of his life. “BUT GOD …” (from the book THE PEANUT BUTTER MAN by Russ Irwin).
BUT GOD... had OTHER plans, plans that were far better that he could have imagined!
I am the youngest one of my dad’s (Mahmood Shah Qureshi) family. They named me Samina Tabassum when I was born. I was the seventh daughter, but my parents were delighted at my birth. My dad always introduced us to the words of God in any situation. He taught us to live in His words. I saw my parents loving Jesus Christ and living in His will. Their biggest desire was to bring all the souls to Christ.
Even though the entire village was against us and stopped letting us buy food from any shop, (thinking that persecution may cause us return to Islam) none of these hardships could stop my parents from following Jesus Christ. God provided us food miraculously!
I was raised as a precious child. My dad used to teach me the Word of God and he helped me to memorize it. We had to move from our village because of the persecution, which was increased day by day. We moved to Rawalpindi when I was in ninth grade. My dear mother tried her best to follow Jesus. I saw her obeying the Word of God with all her strength. Both of them were separated from their families for more than forty years. They loved and served the Lord wholeheartedly by His grace. Yeshua Hamashia stood with them and miraculously protected them from any harm. His faithfulness and mercies followed us always.
My parents worked very hard in different fields and provided us good resources for our studies. We praise God for their love for us and for our Lord. God has chosen us to be His witnesses and this is beyond our understanding. I completed my Bachelor's-Ed and started serving the Lord with an Evangelical Mission (TEAM). I have been privileged to serve God for 27 years now. He has been faithful in all my life. I found Him to be my Yahweh Jireh. No one is like my Lord my Savior.
I met Atif Gill in 2010, and God made it possible for us to unite as His witnesses. Since then we have been serving Him with love. We have been married for five years. We moved to Thailand because of various reasons in 2014. Now we are serving God with a great Church who has the same vision to seek and share His kingdom in Thailand.
*The story of Samina's father's testimony in Pakistan is written in a book called THE PEANUT BUTTER MAN by Russ Irwin. It can be reviewed and purchased at https://www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore/book.php?w=978-1-61566-726-0. It can also be purchased at Amazon.com.
Please help us to bring Jesus to these precious souls who have not yet heard of His mercy, grace and unconditional love! Many are ready, the harvest is great. Let us keep the harvesters in the harvest! Please donate to our mission and help share your MERCIFUL SAVIOR, your BLESSED HOPE, and your SALVATION in Thailand.
Thank you and may God bless you abundantly!
"Therefore He said unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into His harvest." Luke 10:2
