THE STORY:
Why are two middle aged guys running 26.2 miles?
The team of Ron Strobel and Jonathan Blinken (aka team Alta Kacker) are running for a very specific purpose. No we’re not trying to set any records or trying to impress the younger ladies, we’re way beyond that. We’re running for something important. We are running to keep the memories of loved ones alive.
Asher Strobel O"BM, Ron’s and Dianne’s son, tragically left us way too soon. His infectious positive personality and unparalleled charisma effected everyone he met and so we are running for Asher.
We are also running to mark the memory of Mendel Balk, who embodied unequaled love of family, integrity in his personal and business life, and made a huge difference in our community. He left us too soon but left an indelible mark.
And finally Rochelle Shoretz, the founder of Sharsheret, the dynamo and world mover. We could go on and on about Rochelle so we’re running for Rochelle too.
Asher, Mendel and Rochelle were all bigger than life.
Each one of them brought joy, friendship, comfort, healing and pure altruism to every person and endeavor they touched. They made everyone they met feel special and important - and they were sincere about it.
We are proud to run for Sharsheret and to honor the memory of those amazing souls who will be an inspiration for so many people for so many generations.
We thank you for your generous gift - and these two middle age men will try to make you proud.
In friendship and gratitude,
Ron Strobel and Jonathan Blinken
