Hi, we're Nick and Emily Niles,
As you’ve probably noticed Nick has a beard, "a big, beautiful, burly, beard" and Emily is not as much of a fan of the facial hair. Nick started growing his beard out a year ago for 'No Shave November' and "it’s gotten out of control." He gets food in it, it scratches her face, and it sometimes resembles a nesting site for birds.
This is an issue we can’t solve ourselves. So this November, we're putting Nick's beard on the line and you can help determine its fate by choosing to join either Nick's team, "#TeamShaggy" or Emily's team, "#TeamShaved."
Whichever team raises the most money in the month of November wins the prize. If #TeamShaggy wins, Nick will grow his beard out for another year and it’ll twice as awesome as it does now. If #TeamShaved wins, Emily will see that Nick's beard is shaved off with a straight edged razor.
All donations go to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in loving memory of Emily’s Dad, Steve Dalton, who passed away earlier this year after a long fight with pancreatic cancer.
The PCAN is not only an organization that helped us during Steve’s illness, they’ve also won numerous awards for their comprehensive approach to fighting pancreatic cancer. More information about how the PCAN spends donation dollars can be found here: https://www.pancan.org/section-about/financial-information/how-your-donation-dollars-are-spent-2/.
This is a fun and meaningful way for us to remember Steve. So if you're indifferent about beard or no beard, flip a coin and donate to one team or the other. Either way, you're donation is going towards a good cause.
The contest starts at 12AM Central Time on November 1st and ends at 11:59PM on November 30th. We’d be thrilled to raise $1,000 in total.
Make sure to like us on Facebook (www.fb.com/ShavedOrShaggy) & follow us on Twitter (@ShavedOrShaggy) to keep up to date on how the contest is going and recruit others to your team.
Thanks in advance for your generous donation.
