EVENT DATE: Oct 01, 2016
In honor of my daughter Eavan and on behalf of girls around the world, I'm walking in CARE's Walk In Her Shoes event Oct. 1. Eavan and I -- along with Betsy, Stack and Connor -- will walk in solidarity with girls in developing countires who face so many obstacles that can keep them from living into their natural potential. They walk miles for water. Miles to school, if they're able to go at all. (Sixty-three million girls are not in school at this very moment.) Miles for firewood or to tend to any number of other household chores.
With a focus on empowering women and girls in its fight against poverty, CARE has many programs all over the world that help break down the barriers girls face, lifting them up through gender equality, education and new opportunities. Your gift -- every amount matters! -- will help expand these programs and give girls the tools they need to thrive.
Thanks so much for joining me ... and thanks for your support.
