www.musictherapyride.org - The Music Therapy Ride is gearing up for a milestone celebration to mark 15 years of support for music therapy services and programs within British Columbia. On September 17th, more than 150 motorcycles will hit the Sea-to-Sky Highway with a presidential police escort from the Vancouver Motorcycle Police Drill Team, with the goal to break a million dollars in funds raised to date. To commemorate this milestone and funds raised are building eight new mobile recording studios, bringing the total to eleven in operation across BC. These “Bandwagons” are used by music therapists to help their clients experience the healing power of music. The MTR created the first Bandwagon six years ago and have seen amazing results in twenty-four clinical projects supported. This year, with the help of the Variety, the Children’s Charity, are manufacturing a Bandwagon for each of the province’s five heath districts. This is in addition to three new Bandwagons for Canuck Place, Ronald McDonald House and George Pearson Centre. Help share the healing power of music by registering to ride or donating at musictherapyride.org. Thank you.
