As best friends since kindergarten, we have teamed up once again to run this year's Mudderella obstacle race in Kitchener/Waterloo on August 27th!
Although this is a very personal journey and experience for us, we will need as much support as we can get. That’s where you guys come in — We are fundraising for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) and have set a modest initial goal of $500, where 97% of this will go directly to CBCF. If we can raise at least $150, Mudderella will donate $15 on our behalf as well.
Our team name, Feets of Fury, came naturally to us as we will be channeling our anger and frustration with cancer and other illnesses into each training session and on race day. We will be running in honour of our friends and family whom we have lost too early, who have fought and won their battles, and who are still fighting today. Further, we will be running for those whose lives have been forever changed due to someone they love having cancer or another illness.
Unfortunately, we all know the feeling of helplessness that comes along with either directly or indirectly dealing with illness and loss. This is our way of fighting back. Even a donation of $5 would help to fuel our fire and make our ‘feets’ even more ‘furious’ come race day. Perhaps a small donation will help you to feel less powerless as well.
