Shaye Higa Hospital Bills
Organized by: Cameron Petro-Sakuma
School is out for summer and high schoolers are gearing up for the beach and sleeping in. Unfortunately for my cousin Shaye Higa, the beginning of his summer has been less than exciting. On May 6th 2014, Shaye was at baseball practice when he suddenly could not breath. After his mother Shiela drove him to the ER, an X-ray showed that Shaye had a collapsed left lung, a pneumothorax. Shaye has since been in and out of the operating room trying to find a way to keep his left lung open. He has been in and out of pain episodes as well as hot flashes and the chills. Luckily his mom Shiela has not left his side and is sleeping in the room with him.
I am now writing this summary on day 15 of being in the hospital. While I have lost count of how many surgeries he has been through the count is high. All prayers are being said with the hope that he is able to recover soon and get out of the hospital.
Below I have copy-pasted Mrs. Higas first update on Shaye..
"Dear family and friends could you please pray for my son Shaye. He was at baseball practice when he called me saying he was having chest pains & could not breathe. So I took him to pali momi er and after testing & xrays found that his left lung had collapsed. The doctor did a procedure to sustain him. He will then have to be transported to kapiolani medical center. Thank you!!!"
I am asking that friends and family help the Higa's to pay off some of the medical bills for this, for lack of better terms, adventure. Any amount will be greatly appreciated and all the proceeds will go directly to Mrs. Higa. Thank you.
