Friends, we need your help. Those of you who know about the human-animal bond know the impact our pets have on us and how much they enrich our lives. Shayla The Wonderdoodle however, provides so much more for one of our dear friends. Not only does Shayla give love and companionship, she also provides a medically necessary service by alerting others of our friend's seizure activity as well as comfort and reassurance during an otherwise scary time. Shayla's owner has fallen upon hard times. Currently unable to work due to her health, Shayla's mom fears she may have to give up her pal, her safety net. The monthly cost of caring for a wonder dog like Shayla can easily reach the hundreds (food for a 60lb dog; flea, tick, heartworm preventatives; grooming; and routine veterinary care) but now sweet Shay has been diagnosed with low Thyroid levels resulting in additional medical costs. Shayla's mom is one of the kindest and most giving people I've ever met and wants nothing more than for Shay to be properly cared for. She has placed Shayla's needs above hers and is facing a heartbreaking decision to give up her much-needed and loved service dog. I'm asking on her behalf to please help in any way you can to keep these two together. I've seen Shayla work wonders. She's alerted us to her mom's seizures on more than one occasion in the 2 years I've known them and I've seen Shayla provide just as important, emotional support. Any assistance, whether it be monetary, information about foundations or charities that help service animals stay with their owners, or sharing this fundraiser with your network of friends and family is deeply appreciated. Much thanks, love, and peace!
