Nathalie Traller was a 16-year old from Beaverton, Ore., who led a brave fight against a rare form of cancer called alveolar soft part sarcoma, which attacks the body's soft tissues. She became an advocate for access to trial cancer drugs receiving national press attention for her efforts and united a community to raise money for cancer research.

Nathalie's impact is still felt by those inspired by her determination, hope and strength. Chris Gilbertson is one such person. To continue Nathalie's fight and raise money that will be used to research alveolar soft part sarcoma, he is willing to give up something he's had since he was 19 years old -- his beard! To give some perspective, Chris really doesn't shave his beard. He's kept it trimmed, but NEVER shaved it off. His wife of 19 years, Heidi, and children have never seen him without a beard. Neither have his friends. Then last year, he stopped trimming it altogether. Relentless pleas from family and friends have gone unanswered. Until someone suggested he do it for Nathalie.
Here's the challenge -- Chris will shave off his entire beard on Friday, Dec. 18 if $1,500 is raised for the Nathalie Traller Memorial Fund at the Rutledge Foundation. Please make your pledge today. The Shearing of the Gilby is fast approaching!!! Thank you for your support.
Thank You to Chris Casale at The Fix in Lake Oswego for generously donating their services to shear Mr. Gilbertson.
