My name is Shea Williams, and I’m 24 years old. I was born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan and recently moved back to the area. I’m currently a high school teacher at Traverse City High School and am also a swim coach for the GT Bay YMCA Breakers. When I have free time I love to swim, read, bake, get outside and spend time with family and friends.
Swimming is the only sport I’ve ever known. I started swimming lessons before age 3, joined the local team when I was 5, and continued swimming through the first part of college. Throughout my entire swimming career, one thing remained the same: I loved distance swimming. I would have rather swam the 1650 than a 50 free any day. To this day I still find myself swimming as much as I can. Swimming has become more than a sport to me; it’s now a huge part of me and who I am. It’s my serenity. It has brought me some of the best moments of my life. I cannot wait for the Mighty Mac Swim to be one of them!
I am so excited to continue training for this event while also raising money for such an amazing cause. Please consider making a donation for Habitat for Humanity of Michigan and help support the people in our communities!
