Dear Anonymous Donor,

Thank you so much for your generous gift to Heshima Kenya’s Hustle for Heshima campaign. It is through the generosity and support from individuals like yourself that we are able to continue to provide holistic care and transformational support to some of the most vulnerable and invisible populations in the world - refugee girls and young women in East Africa.

We see the potential of each and every one of the young women we serve. With the commitment of our staff, the courage of our young women and girls, and the support of individuals like you, Heshima is building up the next generation of empowered refugee women.

We are so grateful for your support.

Sincerely,

The Heshima Kenya team

Thank you so much, Mom, for donating! I really don't like fundraising, but don't do it often and this is a really good organization.

Hope all is well at home, will call early this week.

CROWDRISING SINCE: Jun 09, 2013
Stuff About Me:

I ran my first marathon 11 years ago. It was a challenge I wasn' t sure I could meet, but with a plan in hand and a few aches and pains, I managed to finish 26.2 miles.  I never dreamed then that at age 50, I would still be out there, perhaps a bit slower (well, definitely a bit slower), but still plugging away.  I've always run for myself, for my sanity at times, but this year I decided to run for a cause....I've joined a group from Old St. Pat's Church to raise money for their Crossroads Program.  Old St. Pat's is a warm, welcoming, all inclusive Parish, and I'm excited to be part of their running group.

Please consider donating to me on behalf of Team Crossroads. Crossroads raises funds for non-profits to assist Chicago’s at-risk youth, homeless and unemployed with targeted programs, resources and service initiatives. Organizations include Harmony Hope and Healing, Horizons for Youth, and Career Transitions Center.

The vision of Crossroads Runners is:

Old St. Patrick’s Church partners with more than 20 local organizations and provides programming that addresses issues of social concern here in Chicago, including  poverty, homelessness, literacy, job placement and therapeutic services. The following programs are housed in our 703 Social Concerns Building, located on the Old St. Pat’s Campus. All of these programs wouldn’t be able to thrive without the additional support from the Crossroads Runners.

Thank you for considering supporting me and the Crossroads program!

Sheila
