Shelter House is the state-certified domestic and sexual violence center serving Okaloosa and Walton counties. All services we provide are free and confidential to survivors. When you give to Shelter House, you help a mother and her children sleep in a safe place at night. You give a rape victim an advocate to be with him or her at the hospital. You provide a child who has witnessed domestic violence a play therapist to work with on healing and breaking the cycle of violence. You educate teens on the warning signs of unhealthy relationships and set them up for a lifetime of good relationships. Shelter House's services include a 24/7 hotline, confidential emergency shelter, peer counseling, economic empowerment courses, play therapy, youth services, violence prevention education, hospital accompaniment, support groups, legal advocacy, transitional housing and resource referrals.
