We’re back at it again with the black Nikes! Hollywood 5K 2017, here we come!
In our first year as an Associate Board, we raised nearly $20,000 for Shelter Partnership, a nonprofit that has has worked for 32 years to help organizations that care for underserved communities, while also helping to solve policy issues surrounding homelessness. Running the Hollywood Half (5K) was a huge success in helping us reach our fundraising goals, and we hope you’ll join us in making 2017 a great year for Shelter Partnership as well.
Running a resource bank requires resources, and we want to make sure Shelter Partnership can continue its history of great work for Los Angeles. The Shelter Partnership Resource Bank provides a wide variety of necessary supplies, from socks to toothbrushes, to more than 500 homeless shelters and service providers each year! Give a little or give a lot; big things can be done with small donations.
ALERT!: Please add a note to indicate the specific runner you are supporting with a donation. We need to know who to thank!
A little about Shelter Partnership:
LA County has one of the highest rates of homelessness in the nation, and effective policy, multi-agency collaboration, and a systems change approach is needed to reverse this trend. Shelter Partnership addresses the causes of homelessness by building the capacity of community-based agencies, developing resources for affordable housing, and providing decades of housing policy and expertise to state and local government.
Through the S. Mark Taper Foundation Shelter Resource Bank, one of the largest basic need distribution projects in the nation, Shelter Partnership distributes large-scale donations to thousands of people in need via their network of community partners throughout Los Angeles County. Since 1989, Shelter Partnership has given over $235 million to people in need through its network of community partners and homeless service providers.
