Shelton is a Senior Manager at Elliot Davis Decosimo. As a CPA, Shelton works primarily in the areas of tax and estate planning serving trusts, tax-exempt and not-for-profit organizations, and she holds significant experience in public accounting and estate planning advisory. Shelton advises clients on sophisticated estate plans, business transition plans and gifting mechanisms available to transition wealth to younger generations, while preserving assets for the use and needs of older generations in a tax-efficient manner. Shelton assists tax-exempt and not-for-profit clients with the preparation of Form 1023: Application for Exempt Status and annual filings for tax-exempt entities. She also regularly advises entities on how to acquire and maintain their tax-exempt status. Shelton is licensed to practice law in the state of Tennessee. Sheton is Vice President of the Estate Planning Council of Chattanooga, a board member of Chattanooga Tax Practitioners, and Women Mentoring Women Committee member of the Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute.
