BENEFITING: CONNECTICUT CHILDRENS MEDICAL CENTER
EVENT DATE: Oct 14, 2012
As many of you know, I've been running a lot lately! I've decided to up the ante and do my first half Marathon on October 14th in Newport, RI. In doing so, I want to take the opportunity give something back as I train for this accomplishment. I have set a goal of $2500 that I'm hoping to raise, and hope that we can outrun that number.
I have decided that I want to raise money for children's health regardless of the specific ailment they're facing.
We all know that kids are the purest form of life on the planet, with a sense of innocence, excitement, and curiosity that is truly unmatched. As a father myself, I couldn't imagine not being able to get my son the medical care he needed if the situation called for it. Contributing to this cause will help provide access to medical assistance for some children who need it, but may not have the access they need.
You all know people with kids, or may be parents yourselves, so take a minute to imagine what it would be like to be in a situation like many children are facing, and not be able to get the help you needed, and consider making a donation (no amount is too small) to this cause. I promise you will feel good that you took the time to donate, and to know that even one Child/Family might be able to see a doctor that may not have with out your support.
I'll post all of my training runs on Facebook, so you can follow my progress. Thanks in advance for anything you may contribute to this.
